JOHN LEWIS: LIVING ROOM RE-DESIGN
BRIEF
You have a new client, Ashley and Samyu - a couple in their late forties that have three children between the ages of 15 and 20 years old. Now that their children are older, they are looking to update their home as the wear and tear of raising three children meant they didn't want to invest too much in the decor until the children were older.
They are looking to completely redesign and personalise their living room with a budget of £5,500. To be included in the redesign of their living room will be all of the furniture, curtains/blinds, lighting and decorations.
The room is 15ft by 12ft. The walls are plastered and painted white and the room is North West facing. The property is a Victorian house with high ceilings but most of the original features have been removed apart from the original oak floorboards in the living room which they are keen to keep and showcase.
Samyu is an avid photographer and they would love to get Samyu's work showcased around the house. Ashley runs a catering business from home and would need space have a computer set up along with a printer/scanner. They would like to introduce warm tones to the living room.
It is crucial that, as well as the room being stylish, it must also be practical and provide some space for the family to all be together.
The products that you choose to include in your sample board must be from John Lewis. Your sample board should keep your client's budget at the core of the concept.
